Bwlch.

A beautiful Indian sandstone patio recently completed in Bwlch for a valued customer.

The project began with careful ground preparation, including the installation and compaction of a suitable scalping sub-base using a Wacker plate to provide a strong and stable foundation.

The customers selected high-quality Indian sandstone paving, which was expertly installed onto a sharp sand and cement mortar bed. The finished patio provides an attractive, durable and practical outdoor space, completed to our usual high standards of workmanship.

Glasbury.

This has been an outstanding renovation project, with our team involved from the very beginning through to completion - delivering a complete transformation while retaining the character and charm of the original cottage.

The project commenced with carefully reopening the existing floor within the cottage, followed by the construction of a new block and natural stone extension. We then progressed to excavating and installing the footings for a further extension, incorporating a blockwork structure with natural stone facing, an EPDM roof and a roof lantern to maximise natural light internally.

Inside, we insulated the floors in preparation for the installation of a liquid screed finish. Once the screed had been laid and cured, timber studwork was constructed throughout the property, providing the framework for the first-fix plumbing and electrical installations.

The next stage involved plasterboarding the rooms in preparation for plastering and finishing. Particular attention was given to restoring the original fireplace, which was carefully reinstated using new stonework, bringing this important feature back to its former glory while complementing the traditional character of the cottage.

Externally, we completed the natural stone facing to the new extension and surrounding areas, before constructing a beautiful new stone patio and matching garden walls.

The finished project combines traditional craftsmanship and natural materials with modern construction techniques, creating a high-quality extension and beautifully renovated home that is both sympathetic to the original property and designed for modern living.

Wykern.

This is an exciting project currently underway for one of our local customers.

The works commenced with the careful removal of an existing conservatory and concrete plinth, followed by the excavation and preparation of new foundations designed and installed in accordance with current Building Regulations.

The new foundations will provide the groundwork for a substantial double-storey extension, which will create a new shower room and additional kitchen/dining space, significantly improving both the layout and functionality of the property.

All aspects of the project are being undertaken by the experienced team at RM Builders, with a strong focus on quality workmanship, attention to detail and delivering the project to a high standard.
